Watch out for phishing

Help protect yourself.

Online hoaxes are getting more sophisticated – making it tough to know whether an email or website is real. Here’re some tips to keep yourself safe:

- Emails from PayPal will always address you by your surname and given name. Fake or "phishing" emails tend to have generic greetings such as "Dear PayPal member" or “Hello Client”.
- If you come across urgent statements or financial information requests that require your immediate action, always hover the URL or tap and hold it on mobile devices to see its destination.
- Never enter your password or financial details in response to an unsolicited email.

If you are unsure, forward the suspicious email to spoof@paypal.com and we will let you know if it's really coming from us or not.

Keep your passwords secure

Your PayPal account is as important as your wallet and the password is the first guard to keep your information secure.
1. Use a unique password for the PayPal account and change it regularly.
2. The password should be one that is not used on any other site, service, or login.
